Campisi I waited to try the four characteristics of the printer prior to review - document printing, scanning, photo printing and photocopying. Usually, this printer is a beauty in both appearance-wise and operationally. There is a pop-up menu screen very bright, which also displays photos. Is supposed to be able to edit it right there, but not really seeing that the features of this printer. The body sleek, shiny black very fresh round is lit buttons all functions right at the top. Can also be controlled from the computer. I found myself going back and forth between them, both for everyday functionality and implementation.

I have to say that a really good feature of this printer, I was not expecting much as I love is the ability to print wirelessly. You do not have to keep your printer anywhere near your computer, only outlet. If you have a laptop and want to use in front of the TV, you'll love the freedom it provides.

We would all rate highly individual characteristics except for printing documents. Here is my take on the characteristics of best to worst relative:

1. Photo Printing - print directly from the card (no computer needed technically). You can print up to 600 dpi with this. The pictures are crisp and clear, and the color is accurate. The only thing I liked was the photo editing software very rudimentary. Easy to use, yes, but not long ago. If you want to retouch your photos, use Photoshop or a free piece of software. I like Picasa, even. They can be simple, but it's better than this. Small printer loads paper from the rear of the machine. Plain paper goes in a drawer at the front, which I really liked.

2. Photocopying - I think it's a relief to have a photocopier for the document from time to time that the needs of photocopies. Here you have a color copier as well. The colors also made right here.

3. Scanning - is a document and photos (you can scan your signature and then cut and paste in the lyrics, of course, that is a nice touch if you are sending letters online). They did a great job in all kinds of documents as well as my signature. Remember though that you can only print at 600 dpi with this machine, which can be a murderer to deal with a handful of people. The digitization of photos was not updated with the quality of photo printing though. I walked in a photo of my mom, and slightly increased contrast. The picture came out warmer and less detailed than the original photo. You can correct this in Photoshop, but in my opinion they should not. Again, I was a little frustrated by the fact that the photo editing software was so rudimentary - but if you have different programs that should be able to solve this.

4. Document printing - this printer comes with two black cartridges - one is much larger than the other and is only for printing. I have a small laser printer and I'm spoiled by it, making it the warning. First, the documents print very slowly. It takes a while to prepare for printing, and then when it starts printing, it is quite slow. That actually was the only thing I was disappointed in this printer. The paper quality is very good, but in my opinion does not reach near-laser quality that some of the HP no. Considering this is an all-in-one, can not be killed for that matter. However, because of that and the slow I would not recommend this printer to anyone who regularly does things like class work of the university, or other things in which large print documents on a regular basis - lack speed to drive you crazy. I also liked my resume better in the laser printer, naturally. However, the slowness and lack of sharpness as the laser is what killed one of the stars in this classification. There was a cool thing about printing though - the front door opens automatically when the machine starts. I liked that.

I would say that this is an ideal printer for people who want good photo printing, scanning and copying needs the capacity, they are also good, but they have large print jobs on a regular basis. The user interface and the beauty of the thing itself that is a complete pleasure to operate. I never thought I would be saying that about a piece of electronic equipment. The ink cartridges are a bit small, so that's another consideration unless it can find a good distributor, E-bay cheap.

Installation - this is one of those that have to be ready. Plug and play is not. You have to load the printer head, printer cartridges, and keep going back and forth between the computer and printer screen (which gives instructions) to configure, no matter what the instructions say. Give yourself an hour, because you can not go so well. Actually I had no problem - I had a wireless router and not have to go through what some others have, but it was boring and I realized I have to pay much attention to what the team is saying that what the printer is said than done, and found the installation of the printhead less straightforward than it should have.

The low light performance is through the roof. As a wedding photographer who regularly shoot with high-end professional equipment from Nikon, and I was surprised how close the camera is a professional camera. Now let me specifics. To compare I took a look at the files of 100% of every camera I have.

What Nikon D3100 is excellent ($ cheap) VS. D300 ($ 1,600) VS. D700 ($ 2,700): * Lens = The D3100 is the only camera that comes with a lens on the normal price * ISO = Performance Tie between D3100 and D700! (It may be processing new Nikon, but the JPEG looks fantastic in 6400iso D3100 was filming with very little noise at all) * Focus in low light = D700 * Speed of approach = D700 * External buttons and controls for professionals = D700 * Navigation menu = D3100 * Ease of use = D3100 * Megapixel D3100 = (14.2) * Sensor size = D700 (Much more important than megapixels but I will not enter this) * You can use lenses with greater functionality = D700 and D300 * Video = D3100, of course! 1080p video looks amazing. * Frame Rate = D300 at 6 frames per second * Weight = D3100 (light as a feather) * Ergonomics = D700 (big enough for all my fingers)

Lens: The lens is a lens kit, will work out, but not so great in low light. The reduction of vibration in the interior, but it will help reduce vibration can not prevent a child or pet inside the movement. Consider buying a 35 mm 1. AFS 8DX for about $ 200 and you will be very happy with this camera.

Video: I bought the 3100 specifically to record video, so I put new Nikon 85mm 1.4 g Nano and video shot with him. The lens costs more than twice the camera, but I wanted to see how the 1080p seemed. It looks like a film. After 85mm, put on my Nikon 50 1.2 manual focus lens capable of taking video was very cinematic in manual mode. The video can be viewed as gelatin if it moves too fast. Use a tripod or monopod when shooting to avoid this. I'm not sure if a more rapid rate 60 fps video to help - but at 24 and 30 who may suffer badly.

Conclusion: This is an incredible offer! Unless you make most of their income from photography or have a stockpile of old lenses (the camera can only autofocus with AFS objectives), this camera is the camera must be the year. If you have good composition skills and an eye for the light you can take pictures worthy of a magazine with this. Seriously, do not regret buying this camera. When you do, do yourself a favor and buy an additional lens Nikon AFS has a maximum aperture of 2.8, 1.8 or 1.4. These lenses will be best portraits and much better in low light than the kit lens.

The image colors are excellent and the picture quality is even better because this camera can record in HD or mini DV. The microphone is also better and can see the levels of stereo viewer. Zebra Lines can set to manually control exposere. You can even take still images on a memory card while shooting video. You can press a button and see the last seconds of the last injection. Cross The first was my favorite version of capture in my bag that had the 16-35mm 2.8L and 2.8L 24-70, as it was much sharper than the other two. I was very happy with the first version and would not have replaced if it never left. Now that the price has dropped around $ 130 original price, which must pay for a good B + W 77mm UV (Ultra Violet) Haze MRC filter # 010. Do not gimp this goal with a mountain of plastic Ritz!

Improving the image stabilization is remarkable! Before I sold the first version for $ 1,550 (June 2010), which compares the two hand inside. I could not believe how a stop IS greatly improved the quality and sharpness of images in low light.

With a crop sensor Canon EOS 7D 18 MP Canon 15.1MP EOS 50D or Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP, this goal is effective: 112 mm - 280 mm. It works seamlessly with Canon EF 1.4x II Extender telephoto accessory, which brings the maximum aperture to f4, but still very strong. In combination with a 7D or any other 1.6 crop lens, will become a 156 mm - 448 mm lens!

I use this lens with my Canon 7D and EOS 5D Mark II. It works perfect for both and did not feel like I have to Micro Adjust the focus.

For the first time buyers this goal. - Watch canonpricewatch dot com. - If you've never owned a lens L, you'll be surprised how strong it is (again, most L lenses have that effect) - If you never had image stabilization, this allows you to take clearer pictures indoors. This reduces motion blur of motion of the lens, but not of matter in the larger aperture has a greater effect. - Time closed (you will notice a black o-ring on the mountain) - need to add a lens filter to complete the seal. - You can use this for sports portrait photography. You get four stops in front is 3 stops. - Improved optics - which has a fluorite and UD elements five highest-quality optics. You get to reduce stray light, improving contrast (Your brain tells you it is "sharper") - Focusing more on 1.2m/3.9 feet (an increase of 8.1 "to 200 mm) - better adjusted indoor portraits - It focuses faster and quieter - Focus larger grip area - Enhanced Canon ET-87 hood - which has a lock that makes it easier to apply and remove. It has a different texture that is less susceptible to scratches. - In short, it's worth the upgrade, especially if you will keep for many years.

Cons It's expensive - but you get what you pay for It is heavy, especially if you never owned L glass, but to maintain a fixed aperture f2.8 throughout the zoom range requires a lot of glass! Just stop being a coward now.

Tips: There are two modes of image stabilization: I rarely take it off Mode 1, Mode 2, but if you use the left or right (to keep a running car or someone) The focus distance selector is handy, be sure to use if you find that is not focusing on the inside, you may have selected 2.5m - infinity. For Surgery100 It is a compact, easy to use, brings the fun back to the camera that Canon offers photo quality in a lower cost, with a structure. A little larger than the digital elphs, this camera fits easily into a pants pocket or shirt.

The feature set is very basic, and nothing new. It has a "Face Select" feature lets you select which person you want to focus on a group. The dial has four options: Modes Auto, Program Easy, and film. Automatic mode is the same as with all cameras, the camera selects the settings that determine the best, but keep the control (if you want to select) on the white balance and flash. Easy is the same car, except without options. Program gives you the option to choose among several "scenes": Portrait, Landscape, Night, Kids & Pets, Indoor, and (buried in the menu, you can also select lesser used scene settings like Beach, Long Shutter, and fireworks) .

The only negative I found with the camera is relatively slow processor. That's the power over time (the time between turning on the camera and take the first photo) is the mean (about 2 seconds), however, the time between images is about 2 seconds without the flash 4 seconds with flash. If you imagine having (or want) to take pictures faster, then this is not the camera for you. Similarly, if you want to have any control over the settings (ie shutter speed if you want to take pictures of your child running) is not the camera for you.

In a nutshell: Canon replaces the control and selection of features for extreme ease of use. This camera is a solid choice for the money, and if you are considering the A3000 IS, this (the A3100) worth the extra $ 30 (better resolution and faster time frame by frame). I'd recommend this lens for three types of people:

1) People who want to get an idea of the L series lenses that you need a lens 70-200mm focal length relatively low cost;

2) People who already have the 2.8 L 70-200mm IS lens you have to carry that big thing around for a long time;

3) People who want a 70-200mm L series need not of/2.8 IS.

They call me a coward, but shot 1000-2000 shots a day in the field with 70-200mm f / 2. 8 IS gets tired, especially if you are holding hands. This lens is relatively cheap for the L series glass, the difference in optical quality is almost imperceptible from 2.8, and is rugged and ergonomic enough to wear all day.

When I think of pulling all day, especially over several days, this is the goal that I carry with me, not the 2.8 IS. It is shorter, narrower and lighter. While you can not feel the difference when you shoot a couple of hours, two people of equal strength and endurance and give you the f/2.8 f / 4 IS or sent by a day and you know it will come back with aching arms when the day is over.

In a body FOVCF 1.6 x the 70-200mm focal range lens makes this a little tight, but at 1.3 x 1.0 x FOVCF, this focal length range is pretty impressive. When I travel, I like this pair of glasses with 17-40mm f / 4 and use my feet to fill the gap between 40 and 70 mm (also took over the el-cheapo 50mm f / 1. 8 so you can shoot low light, and 1.4x teleconverter to give me a reach of 450 mm effective) - this is a good light and relatively inexpensive package. In addition, while a good chunk of pocket money, this goal is not as expensive as the 2.8 versions, and so is much less than something to worry about when traveling or shooting under adverse conditions.

As before, I have not found anything I do not like about this lens (well, except for the loss of a one-stop 2.8).

I have to say that if you are looking for a single lens for general purpose work, it is not. This objective is for specfic purposes. This lens works best as half of a pair, taking the top useful focal lengths, while using something like the 17-40mm f/4L or 2.8 L 24-70mm to handle lower range of focal lengths. If you are looking for a luggage worldwide lens no-change, try the 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens. This is a great value, the focal length range is the sweet spot, and optics are not bad.

Otherwise, if you qualify for one of three categories at the beginning of this post, I highly recommend this lens for you.

289 of 302 people found this review helpful. 5 An amazing flash By William D. Colburn This is expensive but worth it. When I bought my 300D in October 2003 I had the 420EX flash with it. When I went to the 20D also upgrade to the 580EX flash. The difference between them is amazing. The 420 did practically nothing. Well, jump, but it is. The 580 has a value Stobo! I can set my camera for an exposure of 10 seconds and tell the flash to operate at 1 / 10 and 1 Hz for stop motion images!

They seem to have a time of rapid recycling rockets, including partially used batteries in it I was out of my 420. I accidentally had my 20D in continuous mode with the flash on and accidentally took four flash pictures in less than a second (no flash photography was shot in the fifth). Once the battery pack comes that I must be very dangerous.

The 580 is a main flash, so I was able to wirelessly control flash my old 420 and have them both out at the same time.

The flash is complicated. The manual is 172 pages flash (although in 3 languages, though). The 20D manual is 168 pages (single language).

In terms of efficacy, the combination 20D and 580EX now brighter than the 420EX on the 300D. I have not tried the 420EX on the 20D, however, but only E-TTL and E-TTL2 not like the 580EX. My pictures come out much better with the 580. The 300/420 are used to turn off all the time points. I've only taken a few flash shots with 580, but it seems meter tremendously better.

If not done right feet, you can manually set the flash, or use exposure compensation with flash, to get the exposure you want.

I'm sure this is flash, but I have hardly had time to play with him, so I reachde the end of what I can write with authority.

Cross The first was my favorite version of capture in my bag that had the 16-35mm 2.8L and 2.8L 24-70, as it was much sharper than the other two. I was very happy with the first version and would not have replaced if it never left. Now that the price has dropped around $ 130 original price, which must pay for a good B + W 77mm UV (Ultra Violet) Haze MRC filter # 010. Do not gimp this goal with a mountain of plastic Ritz!

With each generation, Canon ELPH series makes it easier to use and still get great results. Like its predecessors, it fits easily in your pocket (or if I suggest at the end of this review). That point alone can make this the best camera you have, have a $ 5k DSLR does not do much good if you left the house because it was not worth the effort to take with them.

One problem with all small cameras is the flash. They are all low power and the creation of red eye. Both problems are caused by the need to maintain the small camera, the flash has to be small and placed near the lens. Canon is addressed by establishing a very good noise reduction so (actually the camera) can shoot at a relatively high ISO in low light that allows for faster shutter speed. The result is an image that is both low noise and blur. And the best part is that the camera takes care of everything so you do not have to. As a result, you can take pictures in a well lit room, without using the flash.

- The shutter response, as with any small digital camera for under $ 500, is a little slow to raise cash for children and pets. The trick to do is either have a great sense of timing and a shutter that reacts instantly burst mode or a reasonably fast (> 4 times / sec). This camera has neither.

My first was one of the very old Olypus digitals, no removable storage, just a cable to the computer, 120 low-resolution or medium resolution 30 shots and the memory was full. The colors were always off, no zoom, and it was amazing that it worked at all. Not surprisingly, they also bought a pocket camera to take 35 mm "real" images from Olympus' were so small, grain, and colorless. At least 35 mm had a date stamp option. 3 years later I bought the Canon PowerShot S30, then when you lose (or had stolen?) Replaces it with the S40. The PowerShot S50 sold today is the same body style with more pixels and a couple of annoyances fixed.

MACLEAN The three main factors for me, makes this camera (2 of them apply to the D300) are so amazing. . . so, the full frame sensor (finally), the leading low-noise/high ISO performance. . . and extraordinary color! The photographer has much greater control over color than ever before and the results are impressive (the use of image control). And the noise (the digital equivalent of film grain) is at least a 2-stop improvement in the previous D2x. In fact, it is likely that 3 points, but they say that 2 to be conservative. Believe it or not, ISO 6400 is really useful! (The D300 is a minor point)

While the features are the most weight in my opinion, there are plenty of others who are a great advantage, such as:

~ 9 frames per second ~ 51 AF points :: Watch Live ~ 12 MP CMOS sensor, auto-cleaning on D300 ~ A new LCD 3 "- about 4 times the previous resolution LCDs.

The list is endless, but you should read the technical and professional exams. Suffice to say, is loaded with features and handles like an absolute dream!

Compared to the $ 8000 Canon's professional models, this camera has a distinct advantage. Sure you lose some megapixels compared with the Mark III, but that is not important for most (but not all) photographers.

Another thought. . . While this is a good deal at $ 4999 compared to the Canon, you can get almost the same camera for $ 1799 with the D300. If you do not need a full frame. . . or 1-stop extra high ISO, the D300 offers around 90 - 95% of the features and performance of the D3 for 40% of the price! I realize this is now being sold by 17th Street Photo, which I have not done business, but unless you are charging the correct price * $ 4999. First there was a marked $ 1400, $ 500, and it is good to see that attempts to manipulate prices appears to be waning.

How times change - the speculation is gone, like pending orders. The price has dropped below $ 4500 I see. My opinion of this camera has not changed in the 11 months since I got my hands on it, and is as good as it ever was, but now with the introduction of the D700, I would have difficulty moving from approximately 4300 dollars that are now sold, when the D700 sells for $ 2699. The D3 is better built, and shoots 9 fps vs 8 fps for the D700 with battery, but I do not see it being worth the additional cost of $ 1600 unless you are a professional who shoots every day.

360 of 363 people found this review helpful. 5 Focusing in low light By Neil I use this external flash unit with my Canon Rebel XTi. The flash does a great job to calculate the amount of light needed to expose the photo release, making it extremely overexposed or underexposed photos a thing of the past. The ability to bounce the flash of average height white ceilings gives great photos that look for the point that they now prefer to use my flash instead of relying on high ISOs, fast lenses and low aperature number. Although flash photography is a difficult subject, the shooter may leave the occasional flash in auto mode and get beautifully exposed pictures. However, in my opinion, the best part of this external flash that allows you to focus much faster than the flash and this is reason enough to pick up the Speedlite 430EX II. Previously, when shooting in low light, the lens / have trouble concentrating and flash flashes are fired several test very annoying. The Speedlite does not have any problem finding and focusing on the subject in low lit rooms catering and dark, and does so without the annoying test flashes. A great product!
