Here are the fundamentals that I thought-about and have identified from regarding nine months of possession. Keep in mind opinions on photography equipment varies greatly by the user and what the equipment is employed for thus whereas i feel the 5D is near-perfect, others won't.
While the positives and negatives appear even in variety, the positives so much outweigh the negatives. I even have no regrets regarding my purchase.
Positives
+Full frame sensor: permits me to acheive true wide angle pictures with no crop issue
+Image size: I even have had variety of enormous (20"x30") prints created and also the results are flawless
+Ability to shoot in RAW: whereas the files are huge (12MB+ each), the knowledge and choices this format provides has very expanded my technical and artistic skills.
+Build quality: whereas i have never tried the true Canon professional series (1 series), the 5D is pleasantly durable and feels solid in my hands. I will see how some may realize it too significant, particularly with an L series lens.
Negatives-
-Lens requirements: attributable to the complete frame sensor, the 5D brings out the most effective (and worst) out of the corners and edges of your lenses. you may be able to tell a lesser quality lens additional simply on the 5D than on a cropped sensor lens. the apparent negative is that higher lenses just like the L-series are usually rather more expensive ($600+)
