Update # 1 ***** *****: Ok now that I've had this printer a couple of weeks and I printed a few hundred images in a variety of sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8.5x11 and 13x19) and printer is a must have for those who want to print your own professional laboratory (and better than lab quality) photos. This bad boy is very fast and print quality is absolutely superb (I use Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy, Ilford Galerie Lisa Pearl, Ilford Galerie smooth and glossy paper 13x19 paper Ilfor Printasia Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy II 13x19). I showed my photos to a variety of clients, potential clients, freinds and family and are impressed by the quality of the prints. When I say printing me are like "What? No way" and then I guess I must have spent a lot of money on the printer ... is wrong ([...] after rebate from Amazon / Adorama).
Pros:
Fast - This printer spits out a vibrant and colorful glossy 13x19 print in under 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

Quiet - I can print at all hours of the night and not worry about waking anyone. When I'm in the room next door with the open door of the printer prints so quiet I can not even hear it and have to come see the print job to make sure it had not crashed and I can not hear any noise in the next room .. lol
Quality - Print professional-quality prints in a variety of roles in different sizes.
Paper - You are not limited to Canon papers as you can use a stack of papers from other manufacturers. My favorite so far is Ilford (cheap on Amazon and is basically identical to the Canon paper face).
Ink usuage - Good ink is not really a big ink consumption. I printed out dozens of 4x6 and even a lot of 8x11 and 13x19s and the ink went ahead and up, until finally began to run low (after many impressions had been printed). Also now use continuous ink system, so that the ink is very cheap now. [...] Link per cartridge costs something (estimated - all I know is that I pay to [...] and 8 pack of approximately 880 ml of ink cartridges is over 80 (no kidding, see fleabay and you'll see tons of them) ... Save money and not buy Canon ink carts and save at least 50% right off the bat).
Pros:
B & W printing - prints black and white poor. This is not a secret and I knew before I bought it. I do not care about black and white prints only color that everything is fine with me.
Size - This is a great mother-Jamma. You will need to devote space to this subject due to its width.
Print CD - U.S. version This printer does not print on a CD at all and there are hacks that allow CD printing function (As with the Pixma Pro 9000). If you need CD printing, simply print on the labels of CD-quality photos.
Overall Effectiveness: This is a fantastic purchase. If you need color prints professional quality home made sure to please this printer. Canon was overcome with this model ... The price is steadily falling as well. Especially after rebate [...].

DO NOT USE OR BUY THE CONTINUOUS INK SYSTEM SUPERjetUSA With this printer:
I bought the continuous ink system superjetUSA off eBay and it worked well for a short time and then filtered ink all inside my printer. All 800 ml + is. It was a big mess and I made use of many hours of my valuable time and waste dozens and dozens and dozens of pieces of plain paper / photo paper to clean up the mess with leaks. SuperjetUSA then refused to give me my money and told me to do this and that and emailing photos of the disaster. It took weeks to clean and there is still a mess of ink in the printer. Use only ink cartridges (stay away from the continuous ink system) from a good source. You have been warned.
I've had this printer for months and remains an impressive printer. I have no complaints. I did almost the entire purchase price of the printer from the printer within a few weeks to have the printer .. That's how good impressions are .. The Canon Pixma 9000 MKII is an amazing investment.
